C.H.I.L.D. - Board of Directors

(C.H.I.L.D.) is a non-profit organization founded in 2005 with the objective of helping children stay in school. This is achieved by providing the educational needs, health care, food and other services to talented, needy children.

CHILD is exempt from federal income tax under Section 501-(c)(3) and its tax ID number is 20-2735663.

The founding and current Board Members

Dr. Ismail Yassai

Dr. Yassai earned his PhD in clinical psychology in 1978. Since then he has served his community in many positions and is currently the managing director for several successful clinics in California. His administration experience and people's skills has been a real asset in his humanitarian efforts as a board member. Dr Yassai's has been instrumental in establishing new relief projects and has participated in United Nation's programs.

Anoosheh Mostafaie

Many years of leadership positions in private industry coupled with her Board experience in various organizations provide this organization with an ability to build a solid foundation for improvement of lives of children around the world. She is a principal at her company and has served as board members on United Way, Discover E Program in Flour Daniel for children, Network of Iranian Professionals of Orange County (NIPOC), Southern California Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD), California Film Extruders & Converters Association (CFECA), and Society of Plastic Industry (SPI) and has chaired many committees within each organization.

Mike Whipple

Council member Mike Whipple has served city of Laguna Niguel since November 2000. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from California State University at Long Beach in 1966 and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of California Los Angeles in 1970. His career since 1971 has been as a municipal finance consultant and investment banker. In 1985 he established an investment banking and municipal finance consulting firm based in Laguna Niguel. Several years ago he sold his interest in his firm and has since committed much of his time to community and charitable activities.

He serves on the following Boards and Committees:
  • Board of Directors of the Urban Water Institute
  • Board of Managers of South Coast YMCA
  • Board of Governors of the YMCA of Orange County
  • Citizens Advisory Council of the Moulton Niguel Water District
  • Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of Laguna Niguel
  • Board of Directors of the Niguel Botanical Preserve
  • Chairman of the Board of Directors of International Orphan Care.
During the Measure F and Measure W campaigns to stop the El Toro airport, he was the leader of both campaigns in Laguna Niguel and served on: Executive Committee of Clear the Air/No Jets; Advisory Board of Taxpayers for Responsible Planning; and Finance Committee of Citizens for Safe and Healthy Communities.

In recognition of his community involvement and efforts to stop the airport, he got selected as Laguna Niguel Citizen of the Year for 1999. He is married and has two children and five grandchildren. He has lived in Laguna Niguel since 1974.
